If you have spent any time in the sorting area, loading or unloading, you have encountered Danny’s smiling happy face. Danny is an honorably retired Marine/Air Force Veteran and is always ready to lend a helping-hand where it’s needed. He always leads by example and has been instrumental in training and mentoring most of our Community Service volunteers this past year. His witty, edgy humor will keep you on your toes and will make the day's tasks fly by. He is always ready to talk philosophy or truck parts, so be ready for some cerebral stimulation to get you through the day. Danny has been with Newby-ginnings for just a few years but he is a great example of our new generation of war fighters. His selfless service to help his fellow Veterans is just one of his memorable qualities. Danny loves to work in the sorting area and takes great pride in organizing our limited space so we can provide the best possible service to our Veterans and their families. Take a few minutes, and give Danny a great big Newby-ginnings shout-out next time you see him.
Have you met Ray? He is a retired Navy Veteran and an electrician by trade. Ray is an avid camper and fisherman. He loves eagles, baseball, and his beloved Miata. He is both a grandpa as well as a great grandpa. Ray is a familiar smiling face in the warehouse every Monday. He came to us in November of 2020 during the height of the pandemic along with his grandson and another family member to donate their time and energy. He comes in with a can-do attitude and gets right to work shuffling furniture around and unloading donations. He always has a smile and a kind word for everyone he interacts with. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful and caring individual as part of our Newby-ginnings family.
